PastePlop

Your clipboard, but a grid. Hit ⌘⇧V, see everything you've ever copied, file the keepers into categories, paste with a click.

Or pick it up in a bundle with over twenty other apps. Also available on Setapp.

What it does

⌘

A resizable grid, not a list

⌘⇧V zooms a translucent grid over whatever you're in, everything you've copied, newest first. A slider scales the tiles from compact to comfortable. Click one and it pastes where you came from.

📁

Saved categories

Drag a tile into a bucket for snippets, prompts, signatures or brand colors and it is still there next week. ⌘1 is History, ⌘2 through ⌘9 are your categories, and the buckets drag to reorder.

📌

A floating palette

MiniPlop is an always-on-top tray of the clips you reach for constantly. It can sit inline in the overlay instead, or drop down from the menu bar, whichever suits the way you are working.

🪟

Floating images and snippets

Right-click any tile and Float pops it into its own borderless, resizable window. Two-finger scroll fades it to 25%, so a reference screenshot can sit over your work without blocking it.

↩

Multi-paste, forwards or back

Select several tiles and ⌘↩ pastes them all in sequence. Reverse paste sends that same selection bottom to top, which turns out to be useful a good deal more often than it sounds.

⇅

Paste in whatever order you want

Tiles drag to reorder inside History, inside a category and inside MiniPlop, so you arrange the sequence first and paste it after. Or join a selection with a comma or a paragraph break.

🔍

Text found inside screenshots

Screenshots are read locally with Vision, so searching a phrase you remember seeing finds the shot it was in. Right-click one and Paste as Text drops the words instead of the picture.

☰

Menu bar accessory

No Dock icon. Left-click for the picker, or for MiniPlop as a menu, and right-click for the standard menu. Or hide the icon altogether and live on the hotkey and nothing else.

📱

A free iPhone and iPad companion

Sync mirrors your recent clips and saved categories through your own private iCloud database to a free companion app. Tap a tile to copy it there. Off by default, four switches pick what travels.

Get PastePlop

On the Mac App Store, or a notarized direct download with a free trial that auto-updates via Sparkle. Requires macOS 13 or later. Buying more than one app? PastePlop is included in my bundles, along with over twenty other apps. Also available on Setapp.

The companion for iPhone and iPad is a separate free download — it shows what the Mac app syncs, so it needs PastePlop for Mac to be useful.
