DateDrop

Drop a perfectly formatted date and time anywhere, instantly. Pick your time zones, pick a format, and take the result with you — by hotkey on the Mac, by a tap on iPhone and iPad.

Or pick it up in a bundle with over twenty other apps. Also available on Setapp.

The DateDrop window — a plain-language field at the top, a September 23–25 date range, PDT, London and Berlin picked as time-zone chips, Short format on separate lines, and the formatted preview above a Copy button

What it does

✨

Type it in plain English

“next Tuesday 3pm”, “in 30 minutes”, “friday 5pm”, “3pm to 5pm” — type, hit Enter, done. Range phrases fill in both ends. Works in your device’s language wherever the system date recognizer supports it.

⌘

One hotkey, anywhere

Bind any combo. DateDrop pops up over the active app — no window switching, no copy-paste gymnastics. Works everywhere.

📅

Date, time, or range

Drop just a date, just a time, or a full start-to-end range. Toggles switch instantly and every zone follows along.

📝

Flexible formats

Long, Medium, Short, Day of Week, ISO 8601, RFC 2822, Unix timestamp — or write your own pattern. Live preview shows exactly what will land on the clipboard.

🌍

Multi-zone aware

Add as many time zones as you need. Inline or stacked. Great for scheduling across teams in different cities.

⭐

Favorites, ready to go

Your most-used cities appear as one-click chips. Even aliases like “NYC” or “SF” work. No hunting through long pickers.

On iPhone and iPad

The same date, in your pocket.

DateDrop is a native iPhone and iPad app too, running the same formatting engine as the Mac. On iPad every time zone sits in a sidebar; on iPhone the ones you starred are one‑tap chips. With no app to type into, it ends in Copy or Share rather than Insert.

It adds a Format Date action for Shortcuts, so Siri can ask for one. Same App Store purchase as the Mac app — buy it once and it’s on all your devices.
