DateDrop privacy policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

DateDrop does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device. This policy covers the Mac, iPhone and iPad apps alike — they behave identically in this respect.

What DateDrop does

DateDrop formats dates and times. It reads your system clock and time zone preferences to build date strings, then hands you the result — on the Mac by typing or copying it, and on iPhone and iPad by copying or sharing it. That is the full extent of its operation.

Data collection

None. DateDrop has no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry, and no network connections of any kind. Your preferences (favorite time zones, format settings, and the hotkey on the Mac) are stored locally on the device and never leave it. There is no account, no sync, and nothing is shared between your devices.

Third parties

DateDrop does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks that collect data.

Shortcuts and Siri

On iPhone and iPad, DateDrop offers a Format Date action to the Shortcuts app. It receives the date and options a shortcut passes it, formats them on the device, and returns the resulting text. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent anywhere.
